Making brake pipes

Hi Chaps :)

On all the other cars I've fixed up I've made my own brake pipes with a flaring tool and a load of Kunifer pipe. But this is my first American car - is there any reason why I can't do this? Weird pipe sizes? different type of flares? I know I could probably work this out if I had the car nearby but it's locked up miles away and I'm in Saturday night 'looking for things to buy for the car will the other half is away at her mother's' mode :D

Any advice appreciated as ever

Cheers

Paul

Usual stuff. Get yer kunifer off the 'bay, use your old unions, double flare etc. Go man go!

Yep, all as normal. If your old pipes have the spring cover then rescue it,cut it into inch lengths and slide enough bits over your new pipe to suit the number of pipe clips for each length. Otherwise the pipe won't clip tight in your old clips. Being spring steel the clips crack if you try to close them to fit new pipe. Been there.
