Does anyone know where I can get used car fuel consumption figures?recently bought a 3281 e36 and it appears to be very thirsty.
I can't believe it's this difficult to find that sort of info.

if its anything like my old 320i then it will be BAD for an engine of its size, around town i used to get around 15mpg, (better on a run but still not great).try putting injector cleaner in the tank (made mine a bit better) + check plugs, fuel/air filter etc.then take out a bank loan if you want to keep running it.

My old CSL was a nightmare, not only on reliability but it absolutely drank juice.
It would have been cheaper to run a Chrysler Imperial as a daily!
Frankly, I wouldn't take any notice of any of the published fuel figures, IMHO they simply don't reflect real world use.

about 20 mpg sounds about right, same as most 6 cylinder Japs...unless you put your foot in it then.....

Parkers is always a good place to go for tech stuff, this is just a random BMW page.
