nowt new i'm afraid !!!! my brother did his apprenticeship at a place called warrior automotive who designed and built a quad cam 60 valve (5 valves per cyliner) way back 12 yrs ago, would produce 600hp in std road tune, or if properly tuned it would easily exceed 1200hp !

here go, same site as you found the other picks i guess, they built two or three prototypes which were designed to be used in the lemans 24hrs type race cars, i think one prototype is still sat on a stand in their reception !!

5 valves per cyl !!!!

Don't forget Chrysler built a prototype OHC Hemi with 4 valves per cylinder and twice the usual number of intake and exhaust ports.

But Hugh the Warrior thing never ACTUALLY ran, plus they went broke shortly afterwards and the Quad cam hemi Fuel motor was made by McGee, not Chrysler.
Mr B has some funny stories to tell about the developementt of the hemi ( especially the new 5.7) though, surprised he doesn't get more of a mention?

I was on about the prototype A925 engine built by Chrysler for NASCAR (but never even ran on the dyno) in 1965 not a fuel engine Andy. I have photos of it somewhere but can I find them?

ok Andy get it sorted , if you buy the lump i will make a plate to fit it to a lenco and a motorplate to fit 2 of them "P" things free of charge ( nothing new thare then) and fly myself over to put it all in tweety , that will make tweety bird fly

you are correct that ehy never ran them, but neither has yours yet !!!!! they ran out of cash because the other company went bust, my brother was employed by warrior until 1999, i beleive that they've now changed their name and the guy (richard ives... rally driver) who started it all, sold up and took the warrior name with him, tho i think he left the proto in the reception !

I got the impression the Nascar quad cammer wasn't really intended to run, I thought it was to scare the Ford boys who were also looking down the same lines. In any case Nascar banned everything!

No it was a real prototype. If things had gone one way it would have been brought into limited production as a race engine. But things went another way and it even looked like the normal hemi was a dead duck at one point so development of the OHC version was dropped.

Yeah they took it to the race when they heard about the engine Ford were going to try and use.

If I remember this right without looking it up (small chance) they told the race officials that if Ford were allowed to run their engine Chrysler would be running this new one - not letting on it had never even been on a dyno.
In the end both the Ford engine and the 'normal' OHV Hemi were barred and Chrysler did not race in NASCAR for a full year. To get back in with the Hemi they had to make it a production engine.

Did I remember that right?
