How difficult is it replace a K member for a small block with one for a big block, a 318 set up to a 440 set up??

You don't. On the E-Body you have they are the same no matter what V8 it came with. The only differences are the engine mounts.

Hang on. You have a big block 383 don't you?

Well if you are talking about another car and if you do have to swap it is dead easy.

However you don't have to even if they are different because you can get engine mounts that convert for the new block.

Yes Dave different car, I will fill ya in later, but thanks for the info, I wasnt sure if a 318 car could take a BB, so its just the mounts eh?.

Yep. Some models had different K-frames but the Challenger only used two. One for the 6 cylinder engines and the other for all the V8s.

There has been a lot of poop about the hemi having a different/lighter/heavier (depending on the poop source) K-frame but as far as Challengers go the Hemi had the same crossmember as the 318 and every other engine.

Most of the HP 440 and Hemi K-Frames did have a skid plate welded on the bottom though. To protect the bigger sump. Hence this K-frame had a different part number. Which is where all the poop came from.

Hemi "K"s are different; the Drivers side mount is completely different to a B R/B motor......

I've gotta tell you Dave, - you are wrong.

Same as a "B" Body one, isn't it? I know they interchange right back to '62 for a "B" body - but it moves the motor back about 2 inches in that case......
