Does any one know if its possible to get paint made up for older cars, looking for info on 70 roadrunner limelight green, can it be got or made up exact?
or is there anyone who would have the mixture make up?
Dont want to have a badly made up similar colour, nothing looks worse than a wrong shade of an original colour!

Hi Mo,

No problem at all, if you have a local Glasurit or R-M distributors I can sort out a colour formulation from the original Chrysler colours.

If not, if you have an unweathered sample any competent paint ditrubtor should be able to scan with a spectro and provide an accurate match.

Dont have a coloured part, will be painting the car from a different colour, so ive been asked whether i can get a formulation or paint code that can be formulated from, dont know much about that end of things! ive seen some cars done which look really cood like the original but have seen some which are just off colour and i dont want a nearly right colour, if you know what i mean!

Mo, any paint supplier should be able to cross ref from the paint codes on the website above. Here's the page with the 1970 Plymouth colours, inc Limelight Poly (FJ5):

200g Formulation Plymouth J5 Limelight Poly 1970

M4 91.7
A148 57.1
A031 20.9
A143 10.4
A696 8.5
E3 11.4

Looking at the pigments it may be better over White/Off White Primer or
groundcoat to get a top result.

You can get this mixed at PR Reilly's in Dublin and they'll know how to bump this up to whatever measure you need.

Yes you are right Mo, most of the pro bodyshops have moved over to compliant materials and that formula is compliant.

There are however, some big loopholes in the regulations and lots of smaller, specialist shops are importing conventional solvent borne materials.

have you got the formulation for a 68 dodge code RR1. lookin to have me charger painted in base and clear, would i be better putting red primer or groundcoat on before the basecoat.
