Problem with Steering

Hi all after fitting my motor the other day I have a prob with my steering and oil pump. The motor that was in the car run an dry sump system I'm running a milodon duel line system, but the pump interferes with the steering I've taken the plate that the filter screws onto and that would need about an 1" taken off to fit, that would take out one of the two bolts that hold it on, also the pump would need about 1/4" off the end.
I'm just looking for a cheap and easy solution any ideas?

Or would it be easier to move the steering over?

Hi,
I used to have the same problem, I ended up wasting the steering. I will see if I have a photo.
I also had issues with steering only just missing all the oil fittings from the KB pump. Took me ages sorting out the routing & fittings

Sorry, I cant find a photo. I might have one on my work PC, so will also check.
My pump was such a snug fit between everything, I could easily remove 3 of the 4 retaining bolts, the 4th bolt would foul if you tried to remove fully. I had to undo & disengage all the threads from the 4th bolt, then rotate the pump until the 4th bolt could be removed. May not be clear, but this is one of those situations, when its easier to verbally explain than write.
Basically, in the part of the steering column/tubing which was fouling, I cut that section out and welded in a section of solid bar approx 5"long, which I wasted to clear the fittings/pump.
From memory, I think I used a piece of 5/8"solid bar (EN 34) & reduced the diameter down so I had around 0.075"clearance. If you do want to go a similar route, let me know what you need & I can make it or get it made for you.
My B1 motor was installed using a motor plate & mid plate & fore/aft limiter. The design being that when the engine was integral to the chassis when installed, so it never moved. I would not recommend this option with rubber motor mounts.
I'm free over Christmas, so can always pop round to give advice, its your call.
Cheers,
Mark . . .
