Recently we have seen a gold 'vert with original cruise control and an original cruise control unit on Ebag. How does it work?? No surmising, as I've done that

Just the real deal.
And yes! I know it lets your car cruise at a certain speed without any input

And yes! I've heard the story of the RV guy in the States who set his cruise control, then went back to make a cup of coffee, then sued the RV maker when it crashed cos it wasn't mentioned in the manual!!

And yes! I don't need no stupid Old Crompton St gay jokes, Clivey!

Let's end the year by getting a straight answer to a straight question and hope there are not too many post hijacks next year, love from a Mod!

1968 this was the first year to offer what is now known as cruise control in the Fury, although this primitive system ran off of fuel flow instead of road speed, and had to be turned about 15 m.p.h faster than actual speed to keep actual speed

1968? 58 you'll find.

Later unit uses manifold vacuum To operate it and is electrically actuated via a solenoid.It's wired into the brake light circuit so that touching the brake pedal disengages it.

my camper has the bellows arrangement fitted (well disconnected) it has pipes from numerous locations and a chain (similar to a bath plug) going to the carb. it doese have a solenoid with wires dissapearing into the loom, i assume these go to the brake light circuit. Kev if your interested pop round and have a look but i cant see it helping on the strip
