Hi Phil. I always convert to UK spec lights because most of the brain donors on the road don't react to red rear indicators. Happy to talk you through how I did it on my 70 - it's not difficult at all.

all MOTs now on the big computer
i.e no lee way anymore
sympathetic or not
computer says no every time.
i found a nice bit of ford mondeo orange lense cut and inserted into my white lenses worked a treat
i even used orange gaffer tape to hold it in
only needed to last an hour while it was tested...
still in there now a year later

oops leaway i meant leaway
not the cream of sum yung gai
just saying what my sympatheitc MOT man told me
my car passed every year for 3 years until he got tied into the new national computer system.
same bloke
every time
you car should have orange indicators.
no no no i say.
yup it should... computer say so.
mine has white as its aussie spec
Fail computer now says no
its on the computer as a car that has orange
i can't let it pass.
I'll loose my licence if you get pulled and the cops see you passed here.
yes but i'll tell em i swapped em in error
his resposnse
yeah right and land yourself in more grief
maybe he's pulllin my leg
let me off on the old side light indicator same unit same bulb issue though.
at night the lights flash off then on rather than on then off. same thing in his book! and i got my MOT during the day.
now all US cars will be imports that should have been converted. if they ain't on the system you may be OK.
may be i fall into a category specially for cars that were sold here that nobody liked
i'll get me coat

Thanks Dave for your imput. Law or not it just brakes my heart to disconnect her front side lights and start introducing orange to her rear end! Its just not natural

Cheers Adam! I will PM you with my phone number for a chat.
