Took the Road Runner to a local weighbridge and it weighs 3615 lbs (1640kg). That's a fair bit less than I thought it was. Didn't realise this was a free service too, unless you need a cirtificate, in which case it costs £20. Anyone in the area want to do the same, I used the Waste Disposal Site just off Small Heath Highway.

That does sound about right, given the alloy heads, etc; but I think there is no substitute for the old 4 corner set up that the lads (Socal Speed Shop) run at Shakey and the 'Pod. Good value at £20 for the information you gain, especially on weight distribution.

My car was a "perfect" 50/50, which is rubbish for drag racing, so gave me a clue as to whre to start the weight reduction.

50/50 weight distribution is excellent for drag racing, if you can get better than that it's a bonus. Most big block A bodies are nose heavy, mine included. Go too mad and it'll stand on the back bumper. Good weight Mick, that's none too lardy...

I guess the eddy heads save about 50 lbs and the intake another 25. Maybe the front disks are a bit lighter than the drums too. Other than that it's a full weight car so I expected a few hundred pounds more.

Thought the runner would weigh more Mick , wanna take the Pit somewhere to get weighed , then again might be a bad idea , don't wanna go down that road Blues on.

I had a third of a tank of fuel when it was weighed, I guess that would add about 40 lbs.

so, where you in the car at the time ?

Weighed my GTX at sleathys,3760 race ready with 50.6/49.4 distribution,almost perfect.

Will, I was out of the car and I took the tools out of the boot as well.

Dave, I didn't realise your GTX was so heavy. Makes your 1/4 mile times even more impressive.
