I need to recover these door window stabilisers. Is there anywhere over here I can get a material similar to this? It has a material backing and a 'furry' flock type covering.

If not something like this, then any suggestions for an alternative?

Thanks I will check those out more closely, including the list of URLs from Latil, thanks. An initial look at the Woolies site didn't reveal anything I could use but I'll look more tonight, I could always email them directly.
The Auto Trim people in Stanmore I had looked at already, IIRC they has a £40 minimum order so I moved on but will take another shot if an easier source does not show up.

If necessary there are other ways to achieve the same end (could even use the furry side of a Velcro strip), but if I can easily (that word should be banned in car circles) get the right stuff so much the better.

In the meantime, other suggestions still welcomed..

Gav, I'm not sure what the part does or where it goes - havent seen anything like that on a b-body

inside of door top, where the glass rubs if I`m not mistaken.

I was thinking along the lines of carpet type material, but it would be difficult to get it to stick.

On our Polara (& Satellite too, I'm pretty sure), there's a long, thin furry strip, mounted on steel (called catswhiskers) fitted to the top of the door that rubs on the outside of the glass & a similar piece fitted to the door panel that rubs on the inside.

There's a few different US suppliers for these, as far as I know. I wouldnt have fancied sourcing them over here tho

aussie suppliers do the catswiskers stuff as well

if you door has small rectangular holes along the inner edge of each window slot these are the clips you need

most aussie cars have had them removed and replaced with a plastic scraper as the fluffy stuff catches sand and grinds ya windows badly if they have a typical 1970s tint (as most did in Aus)

Yes, think the Chrysler tech term is a stabiliser. Anyway the purpose I believe is to support the glass against the door as it goes up and down. On the Challenger the 'catwhiskers' are rubber strips - they keep the rain out (supposedly!) but I don't think are designed to support the glass side pressure.
There are two stabilisers on each door, a small one and a large one. So ultimately anything that the glass can ride against but without scratching would do the job I think.
