Anyone know how high I need to have my Dart to get the transmision removed. I have no pi and need to get the car high enough, doubtfull if standard ramps will be tall enough?

Measure the height from the bottom of the sump to the top of the bellhousing. That is how high at least one side of the car needs to be to drag the trans out.

I would just drop it on the deck with the front wheels on your ramps. Then jack up one side of the car to get the trans out.

Thanks boys, hadn't considered jacking one side as it were.
i knew i'd regret that 'pi' moment
Just need some settled weather now, got to be optimistic, managed to paint the car last Easter :thumbright:

What is this pi? I get mine out (Phwoar, Missus!) with the car up on axle stands both ends then trolley jack it down, off onto some carpet then pull it out the side. Don't forget to support the engine. I put some wood between the sump and steering cross arm.

Like the carpet bit, i'll be lying on high quality carpet underlay to dull the pain of the gravel sticking in my flesh!

I forgot to mention the carpet to drag the box out. :thumbright:

But you don't have to then suddenly pull the box apart on the spot like I sometimes do!

That was to get all the bits back in the case. Seemed to have worked when I tested the car later.

The trans was full of metal and clutch material. It all had to be washed and cleaned for re-assembly.
