Whilst trying to order from year one I notice there's no little padlock in the icon bar. Is this normal? Is it safe to order?

If the site is secure and SSL encrypted, it should have the padlock sign. Also the address should change from http:// to https//: for "secure"

I would have thought YO would have a secure ordering facility. - are you ordering from a computer on a network?

No computer not on network. The only thing I can see at the top of their page is a hacker safe logo that says tested daily. If you click on it, it pulls up a McAfee page
