Had a problem turning engine over

Me and me brother were setting valve lash on Wednesday had a problem turning engine over, seems like a valve Bananarama! a piston. So yesterday had a good look and noticed one pushrod was 0.200" higher than the rest.
Today took the Lifter out and noticed that the machining was different, not finished properly, any thoughts and has anyone got a spare.

I had to replace one solid lifter and the replacement was a different installed height (lower).
Pity because I had just cut all my pushrods (and two spares) to the exact length for the others.

But I was OK because the adjuster made up the gap with just a couple of turns. I fitted it to the intake on cylinder #1 so I know where it is.

Can't you get it machined to the same as the others?

Pretty poor show, at least you spotted it by taking your time as opposed to "wash and go!"

Comp Cams had a problem a few years ago with a big mechanical cam, that they forgot to machine an oil hole in, killed my engine! So not best pleased with them :P

Got a new lifter today from comp cams, same as the one that's too high?
So don't quite know what's going on at the moment. :?
Original lifters came in box with part No:829-16, 15 lifters ok 1 too tall.
New lifter came in packet No:829-1, also too tall.
So did I have 15 lifters in the wrong box? :help:
Also does anyone know the stardard height of a solid lifter, from face to bottom of cup?
