"new" bumpers will be spotted a mile off mate, they are crap

I used to bring in rechromed originals from the States but not anymore.

If you can find a company over in the USA that will rechrome and do a good job i'll ship them for you

Morgan & others have had good results from a company up this way (in Hitchin I think), and we got our Satellite bumpers repaired & rechromed by Hockley Enterprises in Southend, who did a good job. Mind you, that was 17 or 18 years ago  Still look good tho.

I'm sure there must be someone that can cope this side of the Atlantic

I have heard Spain is a good place for plating. Some ex-pat ex-biker dude over there does good work. I don't have a contact number handy though.

When i bought a new rear bumper years ago from The Paddock I was a bit dissapointed at the quality of the chrome. It was OK and looked good. But not as good as I thought it could be.

But then I compared it with the best parts of my original bumper which had only bubbled around the bolts and had a dent.

Guess what? The chrome was just as good as the original.

Do you really think Chrysler would be known for their quality car building and chromework?

Thats an excellent and very valid point.

Why strive for perfection on something that was far from perfect when built!

Mar/ty can you give a bit more detail on "John is now of the opinion not to dip because the cars come back with additional handling damage." I have not heard about this problem.

I was talking to John about this a few weeks ago.

Although dipping does a great job, some of the dipping people aren't the most careful in the world...a Hemi Charger bodyshell could be just any old banger, so lets sling it in the tank!

I'd prefer dipping to media blasting because you are forever finding sand or glass beads months afterwards, in addition, you've got to get an electrocoat or an etch primer on it immediately or it will all go Pete Tong.

Just my tuppence worth...
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.
