hi all
well the drive up great, vey excited as i had not really tested the new build out yet! we really wanted a 13 after all the work and money spent on her.
we arrived at shakey to a bog of a ground friday managed to find a reasonable spot, camped with si and clive as kiwi and phill were light weights and went back sat ;)
any way not that i was eager to see what she could do or anything but simon and i were first in the line up sat!
I was bit nervous and when the lights went green stonked her and very nearly hit the wall  but got her back still did 15!
few more runs and did consistent 14.4\14/3 then i lost it with her did big burn out and got 13.8!!!ssoooooo pleased i was very girlie and shed a few tears kept trying to better it but no good,so decided to give in go to the bar sink several jacks have some fun lovely to meet lots of peeps we have never put names to faces before. :thumbright:
then sunday came,it rained  as usual we were 1st on track mainly due to no slicks rule, but so wet i only did one run in street tyers,14.3 ish
decided to try kiwis slicks
did 7 runs really made no time difference ,good start but started loosing top end speed ?not many cars may be too hot?rested her changed back to road tyers did excellent :D burn out did a 13.7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
then next run 13.6 i was made up what a result!!!
i just stuck her in drive and floored it,but i will have a shifter for the nats !
i am really happy thanks guys everyone has been lovely with advice, kind words and real appreciation of hard work :thumbright:
thanks kiwi, craig and mma for this result

ps
hey sandy i kicked mopar butt today i beat phills charger,si's roadrunner,a mustang, ;) a few more too but hey not too chuffed, some proof to follow,oh plus reaction time best of the weekend !!!! 0.008!!!

Well done, Wendy. Now you have the ticket, you have the bragging rights over the rest of the Swindon boys now, eh? :D

Nice to see you and Craig. I agree, you must have had the most runs of the weekend. Every time we looked up you were at the tree.

25 runs  That's over six miles with the throttle buried in the carpet. You were probably getting quicker 'cause of all the weight getting sucked out of the gas tank

Congrats on the times Wendy, nice to see the hard work paying off :thumbright:

How come the lasses alway get a good reaction time. :?

think its some in built gene,to do with getting the best bargains at the sales :D you have to be quick off the mark for that game!
the cresta did have few 12's against me 12.9 quickest i think must have been developing a problem cause he was always in front i'd whip him at the clock,we did 4 runs and on the 5th he dropped fluids by the tree,?what
fluids,so i did a solo
sound guys
my 60ft were the biggest problem of the weekend because my very 1st run out i almost put her in the wall  and lost confidence in the start
changing to slicks did nothing ran 13.8 with those, pulled my self together then did huge burn out in my street tires, floored her did the 13.7,then 13.6 next run,i am hoping with the shifter it will go down a bit more at the nats

It is a small point, Wendy, but I found it useful to take notes after each run.

Just little things, like 'longer burnout', 'bad launch - not enough revs', 'wheelspin', 'another MoPar destroyed', etc, etc ...

It helps keep a note of what is going on with the car, and also you.

The 'big boys' will probably laugh at this, but it helped me keep track, especially with the Buick which, despite its fire and forget technology, usually needed a wee bit of tuning up at the track. More fuel, more boost, more fuel, more boost, less boost type of thing. I know the older tech cars are less easily tunable but it could be helpful for your own technique.

The other thing is, get a video camera inside the car filming over your shoulder :) :thumbright:

Regarding your number of runs, congratulations, nice to see another non-MoPar taking over the roundy-roundy reins.

Go. Faster. Kill. Kill.
