Haven't had to explain as such, just say it's a British/Aussie car depending on which one we are driving at the time, although it's funny how they start talking to me and it takes a minute or two from them to realise I haven't got the sterring wheel!!! We are thinking of getting a spare and doing like that advert...se how many people we can panic when I pretend to swerve or hold the thing up like it's just come off

I like the idea of saying about the driving instrucotrs, but they in themselves are few and far between out here not sure people would know what one is.
