Special

At the mopar day at the Ace last Saturday had someone approach me very interested in buying the old green meanie and agreed to let him have a run out.
However as I have been unable to spanner the damn thing since my Opp and she was running like a dog and rich as hell on the Demon DP which we threw on after stripping the NOS works of a month or so ago at Naughty Al's.
Adam (aka Brutus) phoned me about something non related which is to secret to talk about and if I do I will have to kill you.
Anyway I mentioned it to Adam and within the hour he spins up in his van and sets to under the bonnet.
Adam then remembered that we had not changed the plugs from when we were running the NOS and were 2 numbers colder, which was not helping the rich running.
so we pulled the plugs and swapped them out for some 12's.
Last plug on the drivers side bank- what do you reckon- a little more retard or more fuel pressure I think it was on the limit?
With the new plugs and a tweek of the mixture screws and she was back to her old self sweet as nut and crisp as new lettuce.

Apart from the plug which is interesting I think this says something about our club and its members and what makes it special.

And all it cost me was a jar of home made jam and a very big cup of tea.

Thanks Adam top man :thumbright:

Love that jam Bob , gis another job. :D

Good choice on the NGKs , imagine if you ran the iridiums , torched piston methinks.

Think you're right Bob , pull the heads & check for carbon build up , bit of pre ignition goin on there , just be thankful you ran it fat , probably saved yer butt.

Those progressive controllers are all over the place , checked my spark retard on the controller against what it really pulls  , no wonder you had too much advance.

Thanks for bein the guinea pig. ;)

Just noticed

Just noticed that the damaged inner electrode seems to have more metal on it than the non damaged one.
I think what has happened is the plug tip has reached over 1530 degrees c, the melting point of steel alloy and the outer electrode has transferred the molten metal onto the inner electrode which is the direction the spark travels.
I would love to take the head of and inspect the chamber 8-)

Adam if you ever change your profession mate I think you should try gynaecology.
For a guy with hands and arms like a gorilla you managed to get them in some very small holes and at some very funny angles.
And you were sooo gentle.
And lets face it if you fail the exams it would have been fun practising.
I swear you could decorate your hallway through the letterbox. :D
