If you mean the ones that act to "self adjust" then I would chuck them away and resortto reliable manual adjustment of the shoes.

Just my opinion.

Works for me.

Some of the heavier drum brake set-ups were designed as manual adjustment from the out-set; a much better arrangement.

yup mine have had those bits removed. they adjust the rear brakes up tight every time you reverse and stop

its a blessing in disguise as mine is very lockup happy at the back end

the rear barkes are adjusted properly once a year for the MOT.

and my car gets safer to drive in the wet the further away we get from MOT time.

you may find one of the bottom Bananarama! the knurled cog on the adjuster in certian positions... once you sling the automatic adjuster bit away. again not really an issue....mines been like that for 6 years and neither part shows any detrimantal wear.
