GTX Update

Well it's been a month since the GTX arrived & things have been going fairly smoothly so far! Apart from some wiring issues that took an age to sort!
She's now running strongly & the motor seems to be in great shape.
So the strip down has begun & the key word is rust!
The roll cage is coming out so if anyone is interested in it let me know.

Oh if that were true, just shot it from a good angle!
She has rust along the bottom of both doors, the off side front wing is all most rusted out & needs replacing, the front & rear cowls need patching, the rear quarters need patching, the deck lid bottom is rotten through but the worst is the holes in the front sub frame. All can be repaired but will just take time. Here are some photos of some of the rust:

Hey mate there are a lot worse cars out there. Looking on the bright side, the floor pans look great and that can only be a good thing. You can only go forwards from here. Keep us updated. Can't have enough GTX's in the UK. I love em. :thumbright:

Sounds good, let me know which side.

Thanks for the support guys.

I'm sending her off for blasting at the end of the month so I'll know the full extent of the rust then. But no matter what condition she comes back from the blasters in she's still going to be done & put back on the road.....question is what colour?? :D

Start off giving the original colour MAJOR consideration. As often gets stated on here, any deviation from that will almost certainly reduce its value, if you ever did decide to sell it on.

Was it B5 blue, like the pics suggest?

I don't know the original colour, it doesn't have a door tag & it's been silver & red before the blue.

Is there a fender tag, on the drivers side inner wing/fender? That will include the paint code....

.... if not, find somewhere that hasnt been repainted :?

Or just paint it any old colour you like! :D
