Paint question again!

I know I'm stomping over old ground here but................I will have about £2000 to get the Duster painted next month. As its a rust free body there is no expencive filling or welding needing carried out. Under the Bonnet ( ) is matt black so I'll be leaving that but I'll like to get the door shunts and the Boot lip done too. What kind of job can I expect to get for this? Again I know this is subjective but a ball park idea would be helpfull.

Also the Original colour is a Baby poo Yellow and I dont want to keep it that coulour. Its a '73 so any idea's what to paint it? I rather like plum Crazy but I guess a Metalic Paint will cost more to Paint? Would it look stupid in a flat paint?

Yeh I am a bit partial to Black 8-) But there is a few Tesco type dings on the front Wings (Fenders :thumbright: ) I think that Black would really show them up. Cant afford to have them worked and I wont want any filler on the body. Dont fancy White to be honest. Would like to go with a more High Impact colour and Original Mopar obviously.

Andy you need perfect panels to lay black on. Same with silver. They show every imperfection. White is very forgiving . Ever thought about a Sox clone? :-k

Nah, common as General's them! :D :D To be honest I'd love a Sox Replica but I'm on a tight budget and I doubt £2k will stretch to anything like a Sox Replica. Although I could get it painted white and do the rest at a later date when I get some more spondoolic's sorted. :-k Cheers :thumbright:

Mmmmmm, some nice car's there for sure! Cant go black because of the Dings. But I'm loving the Purple ones! The blue's are cool too. I like yellow but I'm banned from that colour :D I like the 340/360 Wedge call outs on the Hood, thats what I'll be getting eventually.

I had my 78 Fury cop car painted for a grand in 2004 and I was well happy with the job they did including getting all the dings out. It was Ford diamond white so not metallic or anything.

Sounds like you got a great deal there Will. :thumbright: How long did you keep the car after? Did you see sign's of blistering ect coming through or anything? If I can get a paint job like that for £2k I'll be a happy man!!

then again i had the bottom 6 inches of mine welded filled and painted.
basically made me new rear panel corners etc and sorted out the rear 1/4s and front wing trailing edges

+ work on the black stripes

and that cost me 1.5k

i know a man who will spray to a price and do a decent job but he is 500 miles away from you
