Help with shoe sizes

Hi Y'all!! I am back over in North Carolina & I decided to price up front pads and rear shoes for my Dart.
The pads are no problem, there are no options, but I need to know whether the shoes are 9inch or 10 inch on the rear, and obviously I'm here and my car is over there!!
Is there any logic in which shoes went with which axle? I know mine is not an LSD
Other than that I will just have to measure them when I get back.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Prices I got were $12.99 for the pads & $16.99 for the shoes, so that doesn't seem bad, does it?

Will have more pics for you tomorrow, been to the drags and the Cruise today.
Cheers

Hi Kev

Good to meet you at the Nats man.

When I tried to buy shoes in the States the issue was if I had 9 or 10 inch front drums, the rear was only ever going to be 10 3/4. I actually measured them and told Pascal I had 11 inch drums. He disagreed and brought 10 3/4. Haven't tried to fit them yet!
Mine's a 72 by the way.
Excellent prices!
Hope this helps.

No way would you get 11 inch drums on a Dart. You must have measured the outside instead of the inside diameter (the actual braking surface).

They will be 9 inch or 10 inch.

Which ones you got depended on the options on the car. You got the bigger brakes with bigger engines or "sporty" options.

At that price I would buy 1 x 9" and 1 x 10" and sell the one you don't use.

If it has an 8 3/4 axle I would guess they are 10 x 2 1/2" rear shoes, but don't hold me to that. Given the age of the cars, you don't know how much they have been changed over thier life.

Thanks

I was thinking along the lines of bringing a set of each, but the 10 3/4 ones you raise now bother me because he never mentioned them.
My car was originally a slant 6 so I would like to bet that they are the smaller ones - mind you the drums look huge!!

Thanks for your help anyway.

Never heard of 10 3/4 inch drums. They come in 9, 10, and 11 inch. The 11 inch were used on the big R/T B and E bodies.

I was just going by what I thought Pascal had said. Maybe I misheard or misunderstood. My front drums were stamped with a '9' but nothing on the rears.
Sorry if this has caused grief Kev.

No grief

No grief Steve

I have ordered the smaller 9inch ones and if they are wrong I'll get the 10 inchers, for that price there really is no problem!!
