(Yet another) Paint question!

The previous owner of my Barracuda told me he had it painted Viper Red. Is this a recognised colour? If so where can I buy it from?

I have bought Guy's colour coded wing mirrors and need to get them painted to match. What would be the best way to do this? Rattle can them and then lacquer them or send them down to a paint shop?

I think Viper Red is a metallic, so you'll probably end up with a rattle can for the basecoat and another for the clear...so you wont even have to wear yourself out with all that polishing!

It makes you go blind anyway! :D

Mmmmmmm, well it sure aint metalic paint. Is there a way of using a chip of paint to get an accurate colour match? I cant even contact the previous owner as he's moved to Newzealand.

Sorry mate, just checked, I've got the colour here and you are right it's a solid colour.

You can still do it in basecoat and clear if you don't want to mess around polishing though. :thumbright:

Ah, cheers Ivor. Well that saves a bit of investigating. :thumbright: Is clear coat Lacquer? Where would I get a rattle can of viper Red?

Any professional paint factor should be able to mix you up Viper red and put it into a rattle can for you and supply you a can of clear lacquer too.

Actually, Martin (Tyrefryer) had Halfords mix him some up and it wasn't bad!

You still got a bit of work to do to prepare those mirror's before you get to paint them so still plenty of rubbing down to do.
