Halfshafts Question

I am actually getting round to stripping my axle out this winter ready for the 4.10's and SG install (only been a few years, eh Blue!).
My question is....do I retain the halfshafts (last time I removed one the splines looked OK - false economy???) or do I opt for new ones?
If the latter, any idea on what make to go for, cost, and where from (in the UK)?

If you are going to runs slicks then after market shafts are not a bad idea.
Hauser's supply Mosers; I would think about £250+; what with steel prices Up/down & the dollar up. I would be surprised if anyone did them from stock over here. I guess you would be looking at new bearings and you would probably need Hauser's to fit them for you; so the cost just goes up and up....
If I were you I would get it going as it is, and upgrade if necessary at a later date.

Nah - turned out that they were ideal A body ones (too 'light' for E/B body - Blue tried them on Jem's 'Ratster'). Sold 'em for what I paid you for 'em Aide. Also, I didn't really fancy the 'one-side -lower-than-the-other' look, too. However, I'll be talking to you soon about picking that that prop up, Aide...

How much HP will break a decent factory halfshaft (with/without slicks)?
I know, I know, I'm nowhere near that ball park, but interested to know!

Phil I have been abusing my original 1969 half shafts for 19 years and they are still going strong.
If one breaks at SPR then Hausers is just up the road.

Ok Phil, I do not know who told you that but those the S/S springs you had were the correct ones for your car................. My challenger when it had the 440 in it was about 475hp with full trim, cage and 11 slicks, would run in the 11's all day and would put air under the front wheels when it left the line. The rear axel was a stock 8 3/4 with 4.10's and stock half shafts and did not have any issues. After market shafts are a good option but if you are not going to run faster or have more HP I should save your money................................

Robbo, you must of had about 475hp in your motor when it was last out....................................
