Does anybody now Whats the max backspacing you can use?
Wanted to replace me old centre lines but cant get them anymore, they were 10x15 with 4 1/2 inch backspace.
Can i use 4.875 backspace instead? Tyres are 295x50x15s
Want to keep the tyres away from the wheel arches as much as i can.

Al , a 4.8 backspace is gonna put the tyre pretty close to the springs , a 4" would be about right , will get away with a 3 3/4 backspace @ a push.

I guess 5.5" backspace will be ok with 10" wheels.

cant the backs of the wheels be milled out a bit if there's enough meat on them to get a bit more back space

would be good if it had been done for the front also .... don't think these measurements will work if you have pattren quarters , as the wheel arch flange ( lip )is about 1" give or take too wide ..unless you have trimed them to stock size .

Alan if the BS is too much you can always space out but if it's not enough your stuck.

I wouldn't be trying that with Smegmalines, they're assembled from 3 pieces and the rim part ain't very thick to start with.

Well shes back on the center lines again, with 5inch back spacing. Clears the springs easy and can drop the Ar's a little more now with the call tracks, witch am picking up next week along with a rebalanced and shortened prop from Hausers :thumbright:
