How much if any weight can be taken out of a stock K member ?
Could it be drilled / tank cut, would this be safe
I mean ive seen heavily drilled drop beams carrying some B/B weight
the K member must be stronger and possible to do ??
what areas would would be safe if any
Just an idea

I am sure you can take quite a bit out - If you look at the SS ones they are skeletal.
Probably easier to take a leak before the pass....

Do a search on Moparts Steve, Bondobob had a thread going recently showing how he lightens K frames. Gets 'em down to about half the weight, beautiful work, you'll love it...
He also has a very good front end kit as well, the man can fabricate.

It's never too late, Pete.
No steering box mounts, though.
Designed to run with a rack, i guess?

Sorry, it DOES look like it has a mount, but seeing how much stock "K"s flex here, I guess he has enough bracing. I think the guy does seem to know what he is doing.

Yes that one has stock steering mounts. Bob doe's some great work, the stuff he doe's for stock appearing is fantastic, moly tube drag links, tube steering shafts, tubular strut rods etc.
