Could be standard, but the bolt has been put in from the wrong side..

pete is that right the nut is supposed to be on the outside even on a b-body.

Don't matter which side the nut goes on , you can't get the springs out without removing the front hanger anyhows.

Actually it does matter.
The bolt can work its way out if the nut is on the inside....if it is fitted the other way, the bolt will come loosebut it will be retained by the body; thus keeping the spring attached.

i'm glad because when i took my car apart the nut was on the inside and when i assembled the springs at home thinking i was putting the nut on the inside as it was but when i took them and put them on the car i realized the nut was on the outside but planned on changing it at a later date but thanks my mistake turned out to be better and safer.
