Birdman's 69 Satellite

I bought the Plymouth in autumn 2008 and it has been sat patiently on my drive waiting for something to happen. Unfortunately, working away and currently 12 days in 14, means, little is happening apart from procuring odd bits and pieces. A 383 ci with Holley 600 and Street Dominator manifold is currently fitted and I have imported some headers from Summitracing. This will give me my performance baseline at Shakey.
You can see, the interior needs sorting, but, am going the drag route first. I got the 440 for £440 from Justin3663 and a Moroso elec water pump kit from Simon aka dodgethegardener.
Just before getting the Satellite, I got some B1BS heads, roller cam, noisy gear drive, worked over 727 and convertor. Obviously a stroker kit will be on the list, along with all those other pieces needed to complete and keep the motor from destroying itself.
One of the first jobs, once the 'Vette is out of the way, is too remove the rear lowering blocks, which, give a great stance ,but, I can't get over the speed bumps without a lot of scraping noises.

Blimey that's low! I have to admit, maybe I'm an old fart, but I like to see B body cars stock height....or maybe a weeny bit tall! ;)

As low as you can go for me :thumbright:

Why on earth would you want to poke the arse end in the air, handling needs as much help as it can get, so can do with out jacking the rear
.
That was a popular fad in the late 60's/early 70's, but only because not many knew better

Cool car by the way :thumbright:

The only thing that needs jacking up on that is the exhaust system.Get some over axle pipes on and lift those boxes up and you will be a lot better off in the speed hump stakes... :thumbright:

Yeh, take your point about the exhaust system. I'll have a go at it when I fit the headers. Must admit I like 'em low too. Thanks for the Sport Satellite pic, looks great. I have all the trim, doubt I'll fit it though, bit of a starter for rust. Cheers all :thumbright:

Great weekend for it, but, not for the Satellite. Must have grounded the Flowmasters one time too many and a support gave way as we were leaving. Hasty repairs with wire and hey ho, off on the road again. Half way around Evesham and I'm thinking what the kin hell is that noise!! Photos tell the tale and she is now vinyl topless! Too hot for the glue I guess and anyway, think I'll paint the roof this time.
