Engine Paint Curing

All,
have recently bought VHT engine paint from US Automotive.
According to directions, it is dry after about 30 mins or so, but to cure it properly it needs to be baked at 200 deg farenheit for one hour, or it "should" cure from inherent heat of operation once its up n running.
Firstly, should I bake it rather than hope engine running does the job? If not, where the hell do I take the block to get it to that temperature? Surely paint shop ovens dont go to that heat? or do they?

No, no, no! VHT is rubbish. Just use normal 2 pack (rover/triumph vermillion).
No need for complicated curing!
Do a search, this has been discussed many times.

Roger,
what do you mean by "rubbish"? Poor value for money, bad colour match, poor resillience to solvents / heat, lack of robustness or resistance to abrasion, poor longevity?
Its a bit late for Rover Vermillion Red because my block (as of Saturday) is now coated in VHT Street Hemi Orange.
Would be interested in what you mean by "rubbish" all the same.
Cheers
Clive

I know Derek, and I agree. Your engine looks top notch. I have to say, the finish on mine is fantastice. I am really pleased. Even on flat tin like timing chain cover. It covers well and has an excellent finish.

Just run the engine and forget about it Clivey.

Clivey, when i have used it (few years ago mind) i found it used to flake off after a few months. Did a couple of engines or engine parts. They were on daily drivers, so any problems would be accelerated.
1/2 a litre of 2 pack will set you back ?15 - ?20 and will be pretty much bomb proof.
Anyway, its what i'd use.
Since you have painted it now anyway, like dave says just leave it till you run it.
