Noise restrictions at the track

I was talking to someone at the swap meet who was saying that a voluntary regulation of noise at drag race tracks was coming into force next year, with a compulsory requirement to run mufflers thereafter.

Please does anyone have any information on this??

Thanks Mark, any dates for this and do you know if they will be measuring noise at the track or just a visual check that you have mufflers installed....

I can see the sales of Flowmasters rocketing ;)

Welcome to the warm and fuzzy world of political correctness.

I think the rationale is "its better to do it to yourself before someone does it to you, because when they do it to you, they don't use the K-Y".

Maybe Turbos will become more popular as they such out the exhaust energy.....

I think the answer is "The headers will no longer exit under your front fenders by the front tyres....." Lots of re-design coming up

Seeing as most dragstrips are old runways, how about mufflers on all the planes taking off at airports? The world is run by brainless twats.
