Before I bugger it up - this rubber seal, its just held in place by the metal ring round the base right ? Need to swap from one to the other.
I know all my questions are the silly ones - but I dont want to break it.

If the seal OK why do you want to swap it. The only come like that (without the rubber dust cover) in most rebuild kits. Never been able to get one off without braking it

Assumed I had to... e.g. its on the old one so must have a purpose. If I dont, then great !
