But not the sort you were expecting...
Whilst up at the barns at the weekend dropping the engine in the Barracuda, John was out in the yard tinkering with his Daimler Dart. Thought I'd snap a few shots and show you what a 2.5l Hemi looks like!
This is one that got through before Chrysler complained about the name and got them rebadged.

Excellent nostalgia donk for a comp altered. They were all the rage last century.

Always liked the look of the Dart, especially as a cop car.

A cop car? Really?

Cool!
And convertible too. Supercool ride for the law to cruise in.

You wouldn't want to do a Wiseman in it though..........

Don't they use bonneville pistons in those? I love those engines!

A car with hard top tested by The Motor magazine in 1960 had a top speed of 123.7 mph (199.1 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 8.9 seconds.

They also did a bigger version than the 250. I think it got used in limos and funeral cars. Cant recall the exact size, i think it was around 4litre. Whoo Hoo Hemi big block.Agree with Kev , a great nostalgia racer project. Russ Carpenter did a lot with these engines in the 70s. Seem to remember his car was called Glacier Grenade. I wait to be corrected on that.

Great stuff!
This one is just back from a 2000 + mile rally in Ireland. Love it when the people who own these rare old beasties use them like they were meant to be used. Top respect.

Don't forget Robin Reed, his car is still in 1 piece and runs very strong, I believe it is still the fastest British engined car in the world, 200+mph.
