Stripped Jet Thread in Carb

Since Xtreme Wheels I've had a very fustrating time with the Charger

I've had one electrical problem after another which has cost me ?400, just when I had all those problems sorted I go to take the car out to finally enjoy it. It starts, but is running very rough and dies quickly then refuses to fire up at all. It's turning over but not firing. I thought there may have been a fuel problem so I take the pipe off near the carb and there's fuel there. So mister "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" thinks there is something wrong with the carb. I took both the jets out and one (the one at the back of the carb) was blocked up with crap so I cleaned it and put it back in. The car then fired up but was pumping fuel into the engine bay and running like a dog. The jet was in and out a couple of times while I tried to figure out what was going on, then as I put it back in and tightened it up the wrench went that little bit too far and I've stripped the Bananarama! thread in the carb.
I've closed the bonnet and walked away now, don't really know what to do

Sorry it's a Holley. Don't know what size.

It has a big chamber at the front ith a manual choke and a big chamber at the back kind of split into two. Hang on I'll go out with the camera.

Ok.
That is not a jet. That is what controls the level of fuel in the fuel bowl. If you have stripped the thread in the bowl you just need a new bowl. They are about ?10 I think. Are you sure you have not just screwed the brass bit under the screw in too far?
You are supposed to turn the screw and the nut at the same time.
Don't mess about with the carb until you know what you are doing!

In the fuel bowl you will find a brass valve like in the photo here. The nut you see under the screw turns this bit. Screwing it up and down alters the fuel level as the float pushes up on it.
The screw lock it in place and seals the top. If you need a new brass bit I have a few spare of different types.

Forgot to say that if you screw this brass bit in too far the nut does not engage in it and you get fuel all over the place.

You see that's what you get for listening to the RAC man, he told me it was a jet when I had problems before!

It was the bolt I over tightened. I took it out and could see the thread from the bowl in the brass thread. Any idea what size/type Holley it is? I need to know what part to order.

Well you can consider that lesson learnt!

I'll have to get someone else sort it out when I get a new bowl.

That bit is OK it's on the bowl that the thread is buggered.

Also forgot to say that what you have there is a model 4160 Holley.
