These have been advertised a number of times - anyone bought one ?
If so, anything to watch out for installation wise ?

Cheers

Mark,
I have one and recommend it highly. Nice and compact with powerfull kick to it. Spun my engine over really nicely every time.

Installation-wise, extremely easy to fit - except if you have tubular headers. I have Hedmans on mine, and you have to take the header off to get the starter in, but you have to offer the starter to its apperture whilst raising the header into place, you cant fit one before the other as the space is so tight. If you have cart manifolds its a wlak in the park.

You also might need to put a small dent in one header tube. You have to remove the terminal extension bit on the top and I found I had to shorten the main terminal as well as it was so close to the block I couldn't get the nut on/off.

Well remembered Dave,

Mark, the dent is a must. When RPM fitted mine whilst it was in for an MOT< they carefully and surgucally installed the dent (sarcastic B'stard) and put a little exhaust wrap round the dent, and wired it to the runner to hold it in place. This affords a little protection to the starter from the heat

It looks to me that not all mini starters are created equal!

I've fitted one too. Well worth the money. I struggled abit too with terminal nut but got there in the end.

The longer one like Kev's might fit better looking at it because the terminal would be next to the core plug and the potrusion that hits the header would be more out of the way....maybe?
