Axle lube

What type of oil should I use in an 8 3/4 cone type sure grip. Been told it doesn't need any additive thought I'd ask to be sure.

Any GL5 rated axle oil should do, I use 75w90.

If it has clutches it needs an additive
If it has no clutches, additive not required - You

The Richmond oil on Mark's link is GL6 but you will be lucky to find any because, oddly enough, GL6 oil is now considered obsolete.
GL4 is not up to the job but GL5 is readily available.
