Yep, known this one since our mate Richard Wilson bought it in '85, from somewhere in Tooting I think :?

Had plenty of filler in it back then, like most 'yanks' that had been here for a few years

Under the influence of Paul Mander (as Team Alcohol :) ), Richard entered it into the Roadster class (I think) for a season or two. Car stayed quite stock tho.

Richard was living in Wembley, and started knocking about with a girl from Rotherham, so would drive it up there every weekend until he just wore the car out and ended up selling it dirt cheap, prob around 89-90?

I saw it once or twice in red like the pic above at the Chelsea cruise, after it had been 'restored' by the next owner (maybe not that well restored going by Dunc's comment :) )

Next time i saw it was at the Nats in 04 when Dave Eady had it there, with a mixture of its original front and 71 rear lights, and AAR decals

Good to see it still had the chain-drilled holes in the hood behind the plastic bulge inserts, that I/we drilled in our front garden back in 85/86
Couldnt see any evidence of the 'Mopar Mooner' name that I painted on the rear quarters with yellow Humbrol enamel tho :( (Richard had a reputation of running onto the strip at the Pod during oil-downs and dropping his trolleys..... got some pics of that somewhere too..)

some pics - already posted elsewhere but....

A chap called Mick put it back together before Dave Eady had it, I remember seeing it in the early stages he had had to hand fabricate the whole bulkhead as it was rotten. The rear panel was replaced with a 71 panel as the old one was shot as where the trunk floor and floorpan. He was going to put a 71 front end on grill lights etc but from memory had to finish the car quickly as he moved abroad with his work.
