Wipers...motor works....not wipers

Hi
wipers bust the other day - I orignally thought it was a fuse, then found out it has a contact breaker - but I don't know where it is.....
Saying that, when I switch the wipers on, I can here the motor, but the wipers dont move, so I guess it must be the linkage.
It looks like I will have to get up under the dash for this - any tips please???
Thanks

Yep - duck...
Drop the retaining clip off from theinside off the motor and check the linkages out - it is not too complicated.
good luck

on my old challenger it was the plastic gear wheel inside the wiper gearbox that had split, and lost it's grip on the shaft, carefully drilled a small hole through plastic cog and shaft, put in small nut and bolt ,still working to this day as far as i know

Dont know how you have got on with solving your problem, but you dont necessarily have to do from under dash.
Just release motor from bulkhead by removing three nuts. You will be able to pull motor far enough forward to grip motor arm, and undo nut to linkage. Once motor out, you will be able to operate the wiper linkage with yer hand and see if it is free and not snagging anywhere. Check the actuator arm etc. actually mates with motor properly and go from there. If all of the above is ok, (or not) then go under dash. Save the crap job till last.
I took the servo out of my car last night by weaving my hands up through the dash and it was a blummin bugger of a job.

thanks Clive
I think I'll try that first - I don't really fancy getting all contorted under the dash
In the next week or two, I am going to pull out my seats, carpet etc anyway, as I have a new interior to go in, so if I have to go under the dash I'll wait till I do that.....
