any tips on setting up adjustable top mounts on 67 gtx ???

hi
im fitting rose jointed adjustable top mounts on to 67 gtx but what is the best position for these to be fitted and can you only adjust them when they are of the body , i also have new arm at bootom to ???????/

Hi Paddy,

A few of degrees of Negative camber, as in 3mm to 5mm in at the top,
and more important is the caster angle!
The upper ball-joint must be behind the lower by about 5mm.
This is what centre's the steering when driving in a straight line.

I was looking at the pictures of these UCA's in your other thread and if they were mine I'd weld a gusset across the top for additional strength. I've seen pictures of similar UCA's broken in two.

If they were CAP ones I would be inclined to follow Mick's advice.
Having said that, Tig manages monster Wheel stands at the track on them....

Caster is all-important on a road-going Mope as much as a track one :thumbright:

Yep 2 degrees caster for non power steering 4 degrees for power steering cars,
.5 - 1 degree of neg camber and toe in but how are you going to measure it?
Don't forget to check your bump steer!

If you have no luck I think there is someone in MK but defo have one in Watford
