I thougt we would visit the annual Ace Cafe Mopar meet in our 72 White Challenger for our first time.
Weather permiting I would leave Wells around 1.30pm, should pass through Swindon on the M4 maybe 3.10pm, M25 to M40 by 4.00pm - If M25 isn't moving then M4 to Hanger lane.
Would anyone like to tag along?

That's what I saw too Chris, and it's in the next Connected so I hope it's right. If you fancy staying in London a little later it's the Chelsea Cruise that night too and there is a rumour there might be a Tunnel Run too!!

I am tempted by Chelsea cruise, as long as we avoid congested narrow streets in getting there

I`m actually not working that day for a change.
If it`s correct and the weather stays in favor I may be up for the both.
I have not been to the Chelsea cruise for around 20 years

and only ever been to the Ace once and that wasnt in me Mope either.

On reflection, I think I`m doing the typical male thing and exagerating slightly
It`s more like 15, not a bad thing as it means I`m not as old as I would of bean had it been 20
May have crossed paths before Chris, I used to have a white 65 notch back Mustang and an orange 72 big block SS Camaro
I bet it`s changed a bit since we were last there, I remember being able to park in Battersea park. I also remember lots of the cars, and bikes for that matter doing lots of smokey burn outs etc. The police at the time seemed quite laid back about it all.
God, I`m reminiscing and must stop as I just know we will never get those days back again

last car I went in was a 65 Triumph 2000 with white 16" wheels
Most of the cars at the cruise then were 'Hot Hatches' . Quite a lot of 'Boom Boys' having to keep their systems down for the neighbours sake. I don't remember much Muscle being there

1993 for me I think.
Used to go down on the train when I was about 15 ('87 eek!) to see all the yanks - but then it went all XR3is with boom-boom stereos and I sort of stopped... Classic American became Max Power (and all the bellends that came with it)
Must try and get down this year if its back to how it should be.
Is the park open or is it on the street again ?

Max Power is now history, It had a circulation of around 160.000 then declined massively and went out of circulation.
I'm sure we wont't shed any tears over that!

That was the exception, rather than the norm.
I hope we don't have to drive down streets like that from the Ace Cafe to Chelsea cruise

Chelsea is nothing like the "old days", either in it's muscle car heyday or it's later Chavfest. Even the pub had closed down last time I was there. I'll try and make the Ace and I might even have a run up to Chelsea just for the hell of it.
