Now I have run in the motor does anyone know what tourqe settings I need to pull down the heads they are 340 ally heads or does it depend on the make etc

Well , i've never bothered to re-torque heads & no issues.................i'll await the bashing.

It all depends on gasket material and bolt specs?

Always a good idea with Ali heads after 500 miles!

Cometic (spelling) gaskets with ARP head bolts,I was told before and kiwi said to tourqe them down after the first run once cold

Never re-checked mine after engine build or after doing a head gasket change........ but if you want to re-check, surely just repeat what was done when first fitted (in correct sequence & torque according to workshop manual)....

thanks mate I was thinking rework the origional tourqe sequence.

Wouldent do any harm just to retourqe as a precation (I'm sure somone will correct me if I'm wrong)

Worth doing as a precaution. I did mine on the Dart after about 1,000 miles and all torqued up exactly as required none were below spec

I re-torque and the last time I did this the heads had clearly settled.

Well worth doing for a few minutes work - peace of mind, etc.

Si I would fir sure, I did have a head bolt go loose on the Bee car after the first days runs, I fig heat or it was not correct first time around.

Si you must torque to the spec the head manufacturer states. Not what it says in the manual and not what ARP suggest.

simon dont just go pulling down on the head bolts crack them off one at a time and retorque it one at a time,
