Wheels Day pics Pt 96...

Plans were well in hand to join the 9am meet at the BP/A3 and cruise to Rushmoor Arena with Del & Co but just before we got to the M25 at J20, we saw the familiar sight (sorry Lewis
) of a Camaro at the side of the road with its hood up, so we pulled in to see what was up. Turns out Lewis (Camaro), John (55 Ford panel van) & Naughty Al were there waiting for Tony Walden (69 Sport Satellte) & his lad Darryl (pro street mustang), so we waited too.... and waited.... and waited
Eventually Tony & (sorry, not sure of his name in the 4dr Fury) rolled up with Darryl as passenger, thanks to a busted head gasket the night before, so we eventaully got on the M25 about 8.45
As we were unlikely to get to Guildford in 15 mins (well Alan could have I suppose
) we headed straight for the venue.
Our little cruise was great fun tho, esp with Al using a couple of gallons every time he needed to change lanes, or just to let any passing Ferrari or Aston know he was there. A new Camaro joined in too on the M25 and stuck with us all the way. Thanks to Lewis no doubt
So, 45 mins from joing the M25 at J20, to joining the queue for Rushmoor Arena, then another 90 mins to go the last 2 miles
Rather took the shine off a fun drive down. Methinks we'll be making an earlier start next time.
Anyhoo, here's some pics of what we saw. Didnt get to walk round all the arena so missed the Petty tribute 'bird, which looked great (despite the 'differences/errors' mentioned) in the pics already posted.
Spent most of the time talking to new & old faces, which was nice.

unassuming Ford pick up, with interesting exh manifold layout

nice hat...

nice van

proud owner

another 'new' friend - we bought an Accurate exh system (part of) for the Satellite from him a few weeks ago, might see him at the Herts MMA meet soon..

and another - Joe who fitted our new seat covers. Not the best advert for an upholsterer, granted, but pretty cool, all the same
