How fast in 1927?

1927 500cc, ok it has 4 valves and it's a Rudge but...
How fast do you think the ET and MPH this is capable of over the 1/4?

ive seen similar with the nsa sprint club, and i,l say mid 12,s 95ish mph

Given that my Ducati would run 11.7, I guess mid-11's unless it is running on methanol or suitable mix.....

Reckon Jims right with 12's but I think just into the 100's on the term speed, say 12.5 @ 108 ish.................better be a good prize for this

I am minded to think of the world's fastest Indian, so I know these old bikes could shift as they were very light....

So you reckon a pre-war 500cc pushrod single is likely to be faster than that?
Well some of you are obviously going to be dissapointed but I was impressed, 13.4 @ 99mph.
Another friend of mine is very competitive in the nsa with his slick tyred, Triumph 750 twin drag bike running mid to low 11s so I thought the 27 was doing well.
I think Duncan was the closest
