Brakes have hardly any assist.
Press pedal with car idling and hear whoosh of air from servo and idle increases.
Put vac guage on inlet and vac drops from 18-16 when pedal depressed.
Knackered?
Just fitted new master cylinder

Not sure Anton. Is there an obvious way to check? Also, what is involved in repair as i've never had this problem before?
Thanks

That the one way vacuum valve that goes into the servo. They cost about $50 to replace and a readily available.
I thought your servo behind the break master cylinder was broken.

Anton, it doesn't seem to be a physical problem. Like I said above, it seems like vacuum is escaping

MilesnMiles it seem that it may be you servo it's self. The may be a tear in the internal diaphragm. Can you post a link to the type of servo you have.I don't think the problem is the one way valve. You can test the valve by removing it off the car and blowing through it from both directions. You should be able to blow one way but not the other way. If air is escaping check the rubber grommet that holds the one way valve in and if all checks out then I think it may be and internal issue with the servo itself.

Thanks Anton, I appreciate the detailed feedback. I'll take a closer look later in the week and report back.
