Well, that was an interesting weekend in Finland, 100* heat, torrential rain flooding the pits, thunder, lightning, hail you name it we got it.
Thursday and Friday started off badly we continued to have a fuel shut off problem, and when we got the car to the start line on Friday for Q1 Dave did a burn out and a marshal spotted a small fuel leak, Then the rain started and the afternoon session was called off so no time!
So Saturday every thing fixed went to the morning session hoping to qualify as we new the rain was coming in the afternoon and Dave did a great job 5.42 and we were No 1 qualifier job done, then just before we were going out for the afternoon session the rain, wind, hail, lightning started, A film crew had set up a couple of cameras in our pit to film the turn around but the wind blew out the side of our pit, so it was all hands holding on to it( bit scary holding ally pole with lightning around) anyway we got it sorted.
Sunday eliminations stared badly as the lightning had knocked out all the timing equipment so racing didn't start until 3 in the afternoon round 1 against Esko Raisvuo was an easy win Dave with a 5.39 and Esko 6.48 round 2 we had a bye so we got the car to start line and all you have to do is let the lights run down and get the green then cross the beam then get pushed off the line, not good for the fans but saves a full turn around, so final up against Fred Hanssen same as Sweden by this time it was about 9.15 so Dave really went for it with a big tune up, but unfortunately too much and he blew the tyres off, so the win went to Fred with the fasted et 5.37.
Anyhow all in all still a experience, and Finland is a crazy place for weather and people so roll on the Nitrolympx at Hockenheim from 12th/14th August
