Alcohol at the 'pod

My lads tell me that the pod staff were randomly asking at the main gate whether or not cars were carrying alcohol. My boys weren't,but had their boot checked. This was at the retro show a few weeks back.
Is this a new pod policy,as no one knows what happens if you are carrying a drink or two.

that'll be the glass bottle rule...??
can't get broken bottle out of the grass...danger to one and all
you can always pop out later and bring some in in a plastic bag
i think it would be short sighted move to foce everyone to use the on site facilities for drink
and even shorter for food and drink....
until they turn the current offerings into something more palletable
in both taste and price

Indeed, Santa Pod Raceway operates a NO GLASS BOTTLE rule. This is down to some very unfortunate incidents where Children have suffered cuts and laccerations because of irresponsible folk not clearing away GLASS bottles etc. If you look at the Mopareuronats adverts/flyers etc it clearly state NO GLASS BOTTLES. Please abide by this, lets not have an unwanted incident. bring Booze but not in Glass......

Fully appreciate the rules, yet on this occasion staff were asking the general question as to whether people were carrying alcohol, not specifically mentioning glass bottles.
Just wondering if there had been some sort of rule change to favour the on site bar!
