Goodwood Revival 2011 - a few Sunday pics

Decided to to give Goodwood a whirl this year, rather than the HRDs, as they clashed again. Opted for the Sunday because the racing looked more to our taste (similar to the Saturday but included the RAC TT celebration (60-64 GT cars) and the Whitsun Trophy (for 63-66 Sports Prototypes).
I forgot to ask for good weather when I booked the tickets, so whilst the Fri & Sat turned out to be dry down Goodwood way, the Sunday was forecast to have the chance of a few showers. Unfortunately you have to book the tickets in advance so you cant wait & see which days has the best forecast. As it turned out, 'chance of a few showers' was a bit of an understatement
Weather aside, I cant think of a nicer place to have to drive to down here in the bottom half of the country than Goodwood. We did think of staying on the A3 right down to and along the A27 (all dual carriageway) then back up the short distance to Goodwood, but decided to stick with the scenic route from just south of Guildford down the A283 & A285, thru quaint villages & towns like Petworth and on to Goodwood. Traffic was a bit heavier than last time we did this route 3 years ago so the last 5 or 10 miles was a bit stop-start. But when you're surrounded by other classics on their way to Goodwood, the traffic jam dont seem so bad
Once we'd parked up in the Pre-73 car park, the owner of the Facel Vega that had been behind us for the previous 30 mins or so, after complimenting us on the car, said he'd had to turn his radio up for all that time... he liked the sound coming from the back of our car but presumably not as much as he liked Terry Wogan or the Archers... or whatever else you get on a Facel Vega radio on a Sunday morning!
Soon after arriving we bumped into Adam Ford who was there in his usual Goodwood finery - he says it's not his usual weekend gear but I'm not convinced
We tried to arrange our day around the races we were most interested in, so started off with a quick look round the car park. After about an hour we'd only seen about 1/5th of the cars there, and others were still arriving, but we needed to head over to the circuit for the main event. I think it was Adam that said a while ago the he heard about a foreign visitor that spent all day looking round the Pre-73 car park, thinking that was the Revival meeting, and didnt even get to see what was going on at the circuit. Bit naive I guess but I can see it could take all day to look around if that's your cup of tea...
