We didn't get snow up here. It was fine ice. Like a very fine hail that stung your face really sharp as it fell.
It fell from around 12:30pm to 6pm. Only an inch deep but it froze solid. It was like trying to scrape concrete off the car windows last night when I had to go to the shops. My plastic scraper would not touch it.
I had to wait for the car to heat up the glass first. Being a small diesel it took bloody ages to get warm.

started here about midday yesterday, then about 4pm we got freezing rain then low temps, like Dave said like getting concrete off of the car when I went out at 7pm, I could actually move a window size/shape piece of ice round on the glass but it would just not come off!! had to go up to north Manchester, about 5 inch there, got stuck behind some heavies in death valley m60 j16 – j17 for an hour, all 4 lanes were sheet ice, I have 4x4 so once passed the stranded I was fine [smug

Yo Drew
Being "dumped on" means something a bit different over here.......
if you've seen Team America World Police, its in the bedroom scene. However this has been cut but can be found on you tube.
