Hi guys hope all's well?

Found the site whilst browsing as i am currently hoping to p/x my 1966 Mustang Coupe for a '74 Valiant Charger (no doubt it used to be someone's from here).

Anyway a wee bit about me: grand old age of 29, living near Milton Keynes, having never owned a classic car before jumped in at the deep end and purchased the 'stang about a year ago and loved it! Not being mechanically minded in the slightest (no words describe how god awful i am with a spanner) it's been a bit of a struggle at times but i LOVE it!

I was looking to initially sell the 'stang for something more sensible untill i saw the stunning orange charger and fell in love so can't wait to get involved with forum and club.

Here's a quick video i done of the mustang, could do with a good polish (getting detailed tomorrow prior to the p/x) and there are some bits i need to finish like sticking the alarm sensors down.

Welcome Taskmatster (would be a good handle for my wife) love the stang are you sure you want to pay twice as much for your spares?

More money on spares, having to pay road tax and a daft increase in insurance i probably should listen to the missus and go for something more sensible but hey ho

It seems a good car that Charger. Fancied looking at it myself because I started out on Mopars with one of those. My very first car actually.

But these days I am all for the easy to maintain and cheap to run life.

Dave it's comments like those that are putting me off, i go all gooey looking at the purdy pictures then i think about the mahoosive increase in cost and effort and i get my sensible head on.

Martin not far at all from me then, notice you're a bike man too, will have to get out for a blast when the weather's better (i ride a GSXR 600 anniversary).

I forgot to say Adrian (Worman) on here has plumbing shops all over the area (New City Plumbing and Heating) and rides his S1000RR nearly every day! Roger on here is local too and he runs Monkfish Performance (modern V8 specialists) out near Mursley.

I can't ride (or drive) anywhere at the moment though.

As would someone driving a Mustang L0L!

Anyways, its all about value for money with an elderly car.
I personally would buy a 'rarer Mopar' car that needed work, but for most its all about buying a GOOD Mopar that has been properly looked after.
It doesn't matter who is selling it in the least,
I have seen Mopars with a history folder as thick as a telephone directory and the car is a piece of POO.
Just look at the basics, Bodywork, Bodywork, Bodywork.
Everthing else is just replacement parts!

If you are not a Fiddler or a Tinker, then find someone who is happy to look after the car for you, and if poss, take them to see the car before purchasing.
A £100 of professional advice now, will save you thousands in the future!!!

Good luck with the Valiant, but in my mind an 'American' Charger has twice as much street-cred L0L.
