Tunnel Run April 28th 2012

Good evening and welcome to the Tunnel Run, Saturday April 28th 2012!
Start time is 10pm from the Chelsea Cruise at Chelsea Bridge, London, SW8 4PE.
This is an advised route, please obey all traffic laws, street signs and speed limits and also watch out for speed cameras on the public road this evening. Office Friendly has been informed of our adventure tonight so let’s be careful out there!

…ok then, northbound across Chelsea Bridge up to Sloane Square (maybe a lap or two), north again up Sloane Street, turn right at the top at Harvey Nichols and straight down into the Piccadilly Underpass.
Out of the tunnel and turn left at the first traffic lights into Half Moon Street, carpet shop on the corner. At the top of the street it’s left into Curzon Street, then right immediately into Queen Street then into Charles Street to come out onto Berkeley Square.

All the way around to the bottom of the square to turn left at Itsu (pretty lights in the window) onto Curzon Street again.
Then it’s all the way along to turn left onto Park Lane.
Down around Hyde Park Corner in the direction of Victoria to go left on to Grosvenor Place around the back of Buckingham Palace.
Across the lights at the Bag o’Nails pub then left at the mall/lights/LA Fitness into Victoria Street and cruise along to Parliament Square.

All the way to the right around the Square, then with Big Ben on your left head straight along the Thames on Millbank all the way to the roundabout...
…then it’s left onto Lambeth Bridge then 3rd exit around the roundabout onto the Albert Embankment (river should now be on your right).
Along the river again then left after the Texaco station and shops in the arches, and right all the way around to the right at Vauxhall Cross under the railway station, to come back along with the Thames on your left.

All the way over Lambeth Bridge Roundabout back towards Waterloo, then get in the right hand lane to turn under the bridge onto Westminster Bridge Road.
Keep going to St George’s Circus (signpost -London Bridge/Southwark) which becomes Borough Road, then wait for a sign saying The City/London Bridge/A3 and turn left onto Borough High Street.
There’s a shop on the opposite corner called Sandwich Box, if you’ve passed this on your left and are driving over speed bumps, you’ve gone too far!

Keep right, ready to turn right at Borough Tube Station (Starbucks on the right) onto Great Dover Street, then immediately left at red Hospital sign onto Long Lane (phew!), then all the way for half a mile to the end, to turn left onto Tower Bridge Road.
Left immediately after the tunnel onto the A200 (signpost - London Bridge/Southwark) and follow the road until the traffic lights, and then its right into the Bermondsey Street tunnel.
Then it’s left onto Tooley Street and hope the tunnels aren’t shut for building works…

If they’re open it’s left into Weston Street and Stainer Street for a lap (or two) of the tunnels, if not it’s straight along Tooley Street. (Shame if they’re shut, but that bit’s beyond even my control!)
Back onto Tooley Street and opposite The London Dungeon take the right over into Tooley Street, which becomes Montague Close.
Follow the road carefully (a few ‘no entry’ signs to watch out for) as it snakes around until the left at the T Junction under the bridge into Redcross Way.

Then its turn right onto Southwark Street and head back all the way for about a mile or so towards Waterloo Station, to make a right turn into Chicheley Street and our traditional stop at the London Eye (big wheel thing on the river bank) at Jubilee Gardens!

…ok, back on the road! Right onto Concert Hall Approach immediately after the bridge then left onto Waterloo Bridge.

Stay on the right as it’s down into the Aldwych Underpass and out onto Kingsway.

Get ready to turn right opposite Café Nero into Remnant Street (All Bar One and Britannia on the corners) into Lincolns Inn Fields.
It’s a lap of the square, out at Sardinia Street then left back onto Kingsway.
At the bottom of Kingsway keep left on The Aldwych then it’s around into Fleet Street. Look out for the yellow Snappy Snaps shop on the right, and then turn right just before pedestrian crossing at Radford Food and Wine into Bouverie Street, then onto Temple Avenue all the way down to the river ready to turn left.

…and then it’s east bound and down, all the way along Upper Thames Street and Lower Thames Street, up to Tower Hill.
Road goes right then left and follow sign for City Airport over to East Smithfield/The Highway A1203 and into the Limehouse Link and keep right through the tunnel.
Out onto Aspen Way and off at the roundabout (Sign - Isle of Dogs/Canary Wharf/Blackwall Tunnel) first left onto Cotton Street, then left at the Texaco onto East India Dock Road.

It’s then a mile westbound then left into Branch Road and into the Rotherhithe Tunnel.
Out of the tunnel, around the roundabout, then back through the Tunnel, then right onto Commercial Road.
Get in the right hand lane (sign - Docklands/Isle of Dogs) as its right at the big junction onto West India Dock Road.
This becomes Aspen Way again, then off at the same roundabout as last time, around to Trafalgar Way and the end of the evening’s adventure - McDonalds, 2 Trafalgar Way, London E14 5SP!!!

Saw it too, I stayed at home, don't see the point of driving around London on a cold dark wet night, I think there was only about 10 cars there.

I think Nick Grant keeps his Chevy outside anyway so probably no difference to him.
