I've heard this is on the 17th Aug this year.

Hope Matt can get some more tickets like last year?

What a fantastic day that was 8-)

Same here John, it was bloody ace there last year, one of the best club days out I've had since I joined up, even if we don't get it I'm still grateful to Matt for last year :thumbright:

Just a quick reminder that the Merlins, Spitfires and Motors day at Duxford is next Sunday.

Well worth a look if the weather holds...

Anyone up for this???

"If you would like to book a designated area for your car club, please call 01223 499 307. Individual classic car owners are invited to participate - if you arrive in a classic vehicle you can benefit from a reduced admission fee of £9.95"

Sounds worth doing even if we dont get a club area (std entry price £17 per adult). Could be interested Pete, as long as it's drier than today at t'Pod

More detailed info:

It is a cleverly worded description that does not actually say that the planes are flying - they may be static displays and they run the engines.

Still sounds like a good gig if the weather holds...........

When I booked the American day last year the cost was £10 per car I think, so this is similarly priced and a good saving on the gate price.

If anyone is wanting to go but their car isnt running, it would make sense to hook up with someone in a classic before hand, maybe meet at Royston Tesco's.

I can't go this time.

Stuart cant make it for the American Air Day this time round so the other one that Pete mentioned would be a better bet for us to get our Duxford fix this year 8-)

Weather for the event on the 5th August is not looking good at the moment - heavy rain showers

Yaeh I just looked it up too Pete. Think we'll play it by ear and see what the weather's likely to do a bit nearer the day.

Would you be taking the Bee if you go? 8-)

Yep, the Bee is the road car now....drives well but just need a tanker truck in tow most of the time............... 8-)

I can get some tickets if you need them we will meet at the comfort cafe just up the road at about 8:30 for some food then toodle down to Duxford before 9:30.

Ticket prices are free this year (something to do with me being Vice Chairman of the MV Wing)

Sound off if you would like to join 3 Vipers, 1 Viper Truck and 4 Corvette's

Blimey Paul; I thought you would have forgotten your log in details by now!!! ;)

Good to hear from you.
Not sure if I can be seen in the company of such low powered cars...

I have lived here for 20 years and I have never heard of the comfort Cafe :read2:
