Thought it would be like that today......We went yesterday and had a great day....the weather was very kind to us, cool but dry after a damp morning. Seemed to be loads of Top Fuel cars, probably the best day Ive been to at the Pod for quality of cars etc. Got a chance to meet a few of the guys off the forum including Turnip. Was great to thank him in person for his help with my car and although my 14yr old brat, er I mean daughter hates my car, she loved his Cuda!

Few pics of some cars in the car park....hope it dries up for you all tommorrow and be safe,

Cheers

We went up Saturday to stay over night with my boys, got there about 10.30 Saturday so didnt miss any racing.

Good racing up until 8pm I guess.....then the heavens opened about 10

Noisey in the tent and woke up with some water ingress

Decided to sack it Sunday morning as would have been difficult to keep kids occupied for a whole day!!

Got to say that I'm unlikely to go to the main events at Pod in future, just getting way too expensive

£65 for two day pass
£5.50 for a small box of chicken noodles
£3.00 for ONE spring roll
£11.50 for three hot coffees

Not grumbling about it in a "I expect it to be half the price" type but its gone too far now. Me and two kids nearly £200 to get in......no thanks

Yeah, it is expensive.... We take food with us and just fire up the camping stove and use a flask etc... I think the price to get in is ok, especially if you take a look at the price of footie tickets or F1 these days, but, as you say, start buying food etc for everyone and suddenly it becomes a very expensive couple of days! I must admit we get our monies worth, we stay there till the death and watch all the racing. Not sure we will all go when the Bananarama! 16.... They like it but not that much!

One thing that Bananarama! me off was we had a flyer that advertised a family ticket for 2 adults and up to 6 kids for £60. Got to the gate and they wouldnt have it. Only valid if you book five days in advance.... with our weather..... dream on!

Cheers Steve
